Thoughts of Praise or Concern

• Special days this week —
Birthdays: 0.  Anniversaries: 0.  Special Days: 7.  Priceless!

• Nursery help needed — We are trying to increase the number of volunteers to work in the nursery during the Sunday morning worship service. If you’d like to help care for our youngest and most precious guests, sign up on the table in the lobby.

• Annual Church Picnic — Next Sunday, Sept. 12, at the Littlestown park, in the large pavilion near the bathrooms and tennis courts. We will convene at 3 p.m. and will eat at 4 p.m. A sign-up sheet is on the lobby table, for a head-count, and also to get an idea of what you might bring to share. The Church will supply hot dogs and rolls, Iced tea and water, and paper products. The rest is pot luck.

• The Lord’s Supper — FBC members will be observing the Lord’s Supper on Sunday, September 19 after evening service. Interested in membership? See Pastor Gary.

• Sunday School — The Church encourages participation in our Sunday School program at all age levels. The fall quarter starts today.
Pastor Gary and Sister Julie are teaching a new Sunday School class starting in September. The “Life Builders” class will teach practical Biblical life skills for young adults & couples. Studies will cover subjects such as: Being the person God wants me to be, Marriage Enrichment, Raising Children, Biblical Finances, & more. If you are interested in joining the class, a sign up sheet is on the table in the lobby. For more information, talk to Pastor Gary.

• Spreading a smile — The Sunday School teacher was describing how Lot’s wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt, when little Jason interrupted, “My Mommy looked back once while she was driving,” he announced triumphantly,
“and she turned into a telephone pole!”
