Weekly notes from the Bulletin will be posted here. • Debt Free in 3 -- We are launching a Debt Reduction Campaign to get First Baptist out of debt in three years. Please see the pledge card insert and be a sponsor to help get the building mortgage paid off in 36 months. We praise God for all who have committed to the Debt Free in 3 Campaign thus far. We also praise God for the $8,942 we were able to put on the mortgage principle in July. • Thank you, thank you, thank you! -- The Vacation Bible School committee wishes to thank everyone who contributed their time, talent and supplies to this year’s event. It was a very special week for all who attended and for all who helped. We hope the children enjoyed learning as much as the teachers and helpers enjoyed teaching them. Thanks again. — Sister Beth• Special days this weekBirthdays: Darin P on the 6th; Kelly L on the 7th; Jeremy L on the 8th; and Eric L on the 9th. • The Prayer List -- Please look at the prayer list this morning. If you know that someone’s condition has changed, for better or worse, please let either Pastor Gary or Frank know. If you know of someone who needs to be added, tell Pastor Gary.• Humor in the pews -- A police car pulled in the driveway of a house. From out of the car, an elderly gentleman and policeman emerged, went to the door and rang the bell. An elderly woman answered the door, and was startled to see her husband standing there with the officer. "We found him in the park," the polite policeman explained. "He said he was lost and couldn’t find his way home.""You’ve been going to that park for more than forty years!" the man’s wife said. "How could you get lost?" Leaning over, and whispering so as not to let the officer hear, he replied, "I wasn’t lost. I was just too tired to walk home." |
